Analecta Submission Poster

The Analecta is IUSB's premier literary magazine. My husband is friends with the Editor in Chief, and I of course volunteered to help this year. This project was fun because I was able to do pretty much whatever I wanted. It always challenging to put on paper what not only what I want, but more importantly the client. This is different than past Analecta posters, in that it has a more sophisticated look that depends on the typography more than on impressive graphics. This was done pretty fast though only 3-5 hours on this one. Which makes sense because we were going for more of an ad piece than art piece.

I'm Having Trouble Reading The Map

This was is the first big project in my Computer Art and Design class. It's a personal map of a place, and events. The background was made with shapes, while the words were drawn. The picture was extracted in Photoshop. I worked on it longer than planned (10-18 hrs) but I am happy with the end result.

Cork Screw

This was also done for my Graphic Design class, we were to pick an item out a box and illustrate it. All of the shapes are from the Shape and Pathfinder tool in Illustrator: it was one of the first times I didn't hand draw everything in an illustration. That was fun because it was more of a challenge for me. This is one where I just want to keep working on it.

Hope Comes in Circles

The assignment was a study in complimentary colors. We had to pick the colors and use basic shapes to see how the colors vibrate. I was having a hard time figuring out what shapes to use and how to use them. I always listen to Ingram Hill (google them) when I'm working and this was the first time one of their lyrics helped me out. "Hope comes in circles and pain fades away." The song is called Four Letter Word and one of my favorite.
